Biscoff Explosion
Biscoff Explosion is Crave's most committed execution of the Biscoff format: the same flavor in the dough, stuffed into the center, and in chunks throughout the cookie. Three layers deep.
The base is cookie butter dough — Biscoff speculoos spread ground into the dough itself, giving it the warm spiced profile of the Belgian speculoos cookie before any toppings are added. The dough bakes into Crave's thick, domed deep-dish format. The speculoos flavor in the baked dough reads as a warm, slightly spiced, caramelized background note — it provides the foundation.
Biscoff cookie butter is stuffed into the center before baking — a pocket of the spread itself, liquid and intensely flavored, which stays warm and pourable at the cookie's center after it comes out of the oven. This is the sharpest Biscoff expression in the build: pure spread, undiluted, concentrated at the middle of the cross-section. When the cookie is broken open, the center releases.
Biscoff cookie chunks are embedded throughout the dough and pressed into the surface. The chunks are pieces of the actual speculoos cookie — crisp and crunchy in a way that neither the dough nor the stuffed center can replicate. Inside the warm dough, they soften slightly but retain enough structure to be distinguishable as distinct pockets of crunch. On the surface, they stay crunchier and provide textural contrast.
White chocolate runs through the build as a sweetness counterpoint to the spiced, slightly bitter Biscoff profile. It softens the spice without competing with it.
Three layers: the dough, the center, the crunch.
